Originating as a 15th-century European card game, tarot has evolved into a modern-day spiritual tool for introspection and self-reflection. When the empress card appears in a reading, she symbolizes the birth of new ideas, cyclical patterns of the natural world, and a call to connect with the supreme feminine. Through sculpture, figuration, and surface texture, Janey's inaugural exhibition weaves together themes of nature, gender, and divination as each artist explores and channels empress guidance in their practice.
