Anne Hieronymus creates intricate worlds to expresses life’s transitory nature. Through her drawings, collages, and sculptures, Anne activates what she terms an “out of placeness,” a sensation of and meditation on the inevitability of change. Inspired by Dutch still life paintings, her new photographic series Alien Still Life plays with the idea of time and the cultural context of visual language.Anne studied studio art at Santa Monica College and went on to earn a BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from Claremont Graduate University.
