For this year’s EXPO Chicago Focus Room, TERN will present a two-person showcase with Caribbean artists Blue Curry (The Bahamas) and Leasho Johnson (Jamaica).Together, both artists use their practices to expose the nuances of Caribbean identity, challenging the notion of it being a blissful and paradisiacal place; but instead, a place that holds a people unknown to themselves. Both artists wrestle with the notions of deliberate visibility and invisibility of Caribbean people.
