Hunt Gallery is happy to host Hawkins Headquarters in presenting ‘951 miles or 1530 kilometers’ at Hunt Gallery this Saturday. Opening July 18th, 6 – 8 PM the exhibition will run through August 22, 2026.-“In recent years, Hawkins Headquarters has focused a significant portion of its curatorial program on presenting Canadian artists to audiences in the American South. This exhibition reverses that trajectory, bringing artists from Atlanta and the broader Southeastern United States to Toronto and extending a dialogue that has developed between the two regions over the years.Despite a considerable geographic distance, artistic production in Atlanta and the Southeast often shares formal strategies, thematic concerns, and aesthetic sensibilities with work being made in Toronto—parallels that challenge assumptions about fixed regional or national artistic identities and that become clearest when the work is brought into direct proximity.”
