Ash Godley, Yvonne Weiss, Malachi WilsonSeptember 19 – October 24, 2026⋆˙⟡Marking the gallery's second annual exhibition exploring the symbolism of tarot, Temperance brings together the work of Canadian emerging artists Ash Godley, Yvonne Weiss, and Malachi Wilson. In tarot, Temperance represents balance, harmony, and the integration of two. Through the presentation of artworks in pairs, Temperance exhibits painted, drawn, printed, and carved pieces exploring the ways they complement, counter, and find balance with one another.⁠⋆˙⟡Ash Godley (b. 2001) is a Toronto-based oil and acrylic painter whose practice explores the haunted atmosphere of Canadian landscapes at night. With a focus on perspective, light, and colour, Godley transforms suburban environments and residential interiors into theatrical stages of an ambiguous drama. Godley holds a BFA from the University of Guelph (2024). Their work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at MKG127 (Toronto, Canada), The Plumb (Toronto, Canada), and the Art Gallery of Guelph (Guelph, Canada). Awards include the United Contemporary Art Award at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (2026), First in Show at Artist Project Toronto (2025) and First Place at the University of Guelph Juried Art Show (2024). Yvonne Weiss (b. 1993) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Guelph, Canada. Weiss’s work spans across mediums and materials and explores themes of spirituality, religion, morality, and social roles of the self and collective. Weiss has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions at Janey (Cambridge, Canada), Future Fair (New York, US), Elsewhere Fair (Philadelphia, PA), Art Toronto (Toronto, Canada), and Ground Floor Arts (Guelph, Canada). Weiss’s work is inspired by religious iconography and symbolism from the medieval and Gothic traditions and her work reinterprets these visual languages through an esoteric lens. Malachi Wilson (b. 1998) is an interdisciplinary artist born and working in Toronto, Canada. His practice uses physical interventions and inversions of found image media to challenge and explore themes of nature, belief, and the ideal. He is currently a candidate for his Masters of Visual Studies at the University of Toronto (expected 2027) and has exhibited at Janey (Cambridge, Canada), Elsewhere Fair (Philadelphia, PA) Hart House (Toronto, Canada), and SPRING/BREAK (Los Angeles, US). His work prioritizes digital distortions, combining them with material processes such as cutting, cropping, and repositioning disparate images to critically explore his own relationship to knowledge formation and interpretation.
