Barbara is primarily known for her work in experimental printmaking and animation.  Recently she has expanded her work into painting and sculptural installation while continuing her work in animation. Her ongoing series of paintings and animations explore ideas about architecture and environment in a time of accelerating urban and societal change.  She has received awards for her work from 4Culture, the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, KALA Art Institute and the Neddy Award from Behnke Foundation in 2007. Her work has been presented in collaboration with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company in New York and has been exhibited by “a project space” and The Vestibule in Seattle; Trykk 17 Art Center, Norway; Eleftherias Art Center in Athens, Greece; the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Oxbow Art Space in Seattle. Her work was included in “The Intersection Between Science, Art and Technology” exhibition at the American Embassy in Bern, Switzerland and her animations and works on paper were exhibited at the China Art Academy in Hangzhou, China and recently included in “Familiar Faces & New” at the Tacoma Art Museum. She is the co-founder and past president of Seattle Print Arts.
